You may remember that last year our community sponsored lights on our village Christmas Trees to remember family and friends who are no longer with us.
Thanks to your donations, the North Gower Food Hub was delighted to receive over £200 which they used to provide food and some festive treats to those in need locally.
The idea of remembering a loved one by sponsoring a light on the tree was, in fact, so well received that we are repeating it this year.
Yet again the Christmas trees outside Llanmadoc Village Hall, and on the green in front of St Cenydd’s Church in Llangennith, will be displaying the names of those you wish to remember, no matter how long ago they passed.
So if you have friends or family who you would like to see remembered at Christmas, perhaps you would consider adding their names to our Tree of Memories – and help raise money for a good cause at the same time.
Details on how, when and where to sponsor are below.
THE CHRISTMAS TREE OF MEMORIES…your questions answered.
When can I participate?
Between Monday November 17 and Saturday November 29.
Pop into the shop and ask for the ‘Tree of Memories’ list. Fill in the name(s) of those you would like to see remembered. Add your own contact details and give your donation.
How much does it cost?
We suggest a minimum donation of £5 per name to be remembered. Cash only I’m afraid.
What happens to the money?
Every penny raised will go the local food bank, to help those in need.
What happens to the names?
The full list of names to be remembered will be displayed near the Christmas Trees outside Llanmadoc Village Hall and outside the church in Llangennith for the duration of the festive season.
So if you would like to sponsor a light on our trees, in memory of family or friends who are no longer with us, please add their names to our Christmas Tree of Memories, and help raise funds for a good cause at the same time.
