The Village Hall refurbishment update

The first community consultation event was held in the Hall on 29th February 2024.  Approximately 30 members of the local community attended in addition to 2 members of the Rural Anchor Fund team. They were provided with a brief introduction to the project, explaining how the refurbishment sub committee was set up, the early community questionnaire and the report prepared for the hall committee.

We then explained how our applications for funding were made, and the appointment of HGA architects to carry out the feasibility study.  The participants were then set to work!  Post it notes were used to collect ideas for improvements to the hall and over a hundred notes were recovered from the walls at the end of the evening.  Those ideas have been collated and passed onto the architects.

Since that evening, the measured survey of the building has taken place and tenders received for the consultants who will assess the site and building in more detail. Next steps are for the various reports to be collated by the architects and for the architects to come to speak to the community again.  Watch this space.
